AIKEN, S.C. – The No. 39 University of South Carolina Aiken men's tennis team lost a 7-2 decision at Lander Saturday.
The Pacers are now 4-5 overall and 1-4 in league play. The Bearcats stand at 8-2 on the year and 5-0 against conference competition.
Head coach
Steve Dahm's team trailed by a 2-1 count after doubles action. The No. 2 tandem of
Antonio Sabugueiro and
Tales Silva notched an 8-5 victory over their opponents. Top-seeded
Mathias Degardin and
Julien Tan, as well as
Wojciech Adamek and
Hunter Lathrop at the No. 3 spot each lost by an 8-4 score.
In singles action, Sabugueiro accounted for the team's lone victory. Playing at the No. 2 position, Sabugueiro posted a 4-6, 7-5, 10-6 victory.
The Pacers return to action against Augusta on Tuesday, March 21. The match is slated to start at 1 p.m.
