AIKEN, S.C. - The University of South Carolina Aiken women's tennis team garnered a 7-2 victory over Belmont Abbey Thursday in a non-conference contest.
The Pacers are now 2-1 on the season.
Head coach
Steve Dahm's team played well in doubles action, taking two of the three contests. Top-seeded
Kayla Calvert and
Brigitta Mirak notched an 8-4 win. Third-seeded
Victoria Giannaccini and
Alice Neves combined for an 8-3 victory.
Olivera Veskovac tallied an 8-4 win at the No. 2 position. Mirak accounted for an 8-1 victory at the No. 3 slot.
Giannaccini registered an 8-2 win at No. 4 while Marie Habiyaremye blanked her opposition at the No. 5 slot by an 8-0 count.
Neves rounded out the win at No. 6, taking an 8-2 victory to the bank.
The Pacers return to action Saturday when they host Erskine at 12 p.m.
