AIKEN, S.C. – The No. 30 University of South Carolina Aiken women's tennis team lost an 8-1 contest to No. 1 Armstrong State Friday afternoon.
The Pacers are now 4-2 on the season.
The No. 2 doubles tandem of
Kayla Calvert and
Brigitta Mirak registered the closest match of the afternoon at 8-5.
In singles play, Mirak easily won her contest at the No. 4 spot. She posted a 6-3, 6-1 victory over her foe.
Olivera Veskovac turned in an impressive performance, but lost a 6-4, 6-3 decision at No. 2. Calvert, playing at No. 3, lost a hard fought match by a 6-4, 6-1 count.
Marie Habiyarme dropped a 6-2, 6-2 match at No. 5 while
Alice Neves fell by a 6-1, 6-2 score at the No. 6 slot.
Nadine Tusiama fell by a 6-3, 6-0 count at No. 1.
The Pacers return to action Sunday when they host Flagler at 12 p.m.
