USC Aiken Men's Soccer Notes - Week 3

Each week throughout the 2016 USC Aiken men's soccer season, the sports information office will produce weekly notes.

Simmond Scores Again

In the 5-2 loss to West Alabama, head coach Ike Ofoje's team was led by Andre Simmond's two assists. He currently leads the team in points for the season and is the active career-points leader for the Pacers.

Stopping The Streak

USC Aiken has dropped three straight matches after winning 1-0 over Mount Olive on Sept. 10 in the home opener. The team has dropped a pair of one-goal matches. The squad is set to take on Erskine and will have a formidable foe before entering PBC play on Saturday.

Movin' On Up

With his goal against Shorter, Andre Simmond now has 48 career points in 40 matches. In all, Simmond has 14 goals and 20 assists to his credit. He is in sixth place on the career list at USC Aiken, having just passed Noel Mais and Mamadou Ndoye during Monday's match against West Alabama.

Fresh Faces

In the loss to the Tigers, head coach Ike Ofoje had several newcomers on the pitch during various times. Included in the match were goalkeeper Orlando Maldovan and field players Kayque Stoffel and Samuel Andrews. All three saw their first action of their career for the Pacers.

Inside The Numbers

Since moving to Division II, USC Aiken is 3-4 on Sept. 21 and 1-5-1 in matches played on Sept. 24. The squad takes on Erskine on Wednesday and since moving to Division II, the Pacers are 38-84-18 (33.6 percent) on Wednesday. In Saturday matches, the team is 59-95-15 (39.3 percent) since moving to Division II.
