SAVANNAH, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's tennis team lost a 6-1 decision to Flagler in a neutral-site affair, Saturday afternoon.
The Pacers are now 8-4 on the season, including a 3-3 effort against Peach Belt Conference foes.
The doubles tandem of Franziska Regal and Julia Arruda, playing at the No. 3 spot, were the closest squad to a victory to start things off. The duo lost by an 8-3 score.
In singles action, only three of the six matches were completed before the contest was halted with the Saints leading 6-0.
No. 2 Margot Simon fell 6-1, 6-3 while Arruda lost 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 4 position. Playing at the No. 6 slot, Ella Rhodin lost a hard-fought contest 6-4, 6-3.
However, Nadine Tusiama had posted a first-set victory at the top spot as had Shauna Williams at No. 3 and Victoria Jasko at the No. 5 spot.
The team returns to action Tuesday when it hosts GRU Augusta starting at 2 p.m.
