Pacer Tennis Teams Unable to Upset Georgia College

AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken men's and women's tennis teams closed out their 2012 home campaigns with losses to nationally-ranked Georgia College on Saturday at the USC Aiken Tennis Complex.

The nationally 33rd-ranked USC Aiken men (8-7, 1-7 PBC) fell 6-0 to No. 29 Georgia College (10-7, 4-5 PBC).

The USC Aiken women (12-7, 6-5 PBC) were unable to upset No. 30 Georgia College (12-9, 7-5) in a 5-1 loss.

USC Aiken's lone point on the day came at No. 3 doubles in women's with the tandem of Andrea Cediel (Cali, Colombia/Cypress Bay High School) and Gina Kothari (Leicester, England/Dixie Grammar School) besting Georgia College's Ivana Marevic and Michelle Lingner 9-8.

USC Aiken will next close the curtains on its regular season with a road league men's and women's tennis match against Georgia Southwestern in Americus, Ga. on Sunday, April 15. The matches are set to begin at 2 p.m.
