MORROW, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken was unable to claim Peach Belt Conference victory No. 1 in the 2011 season in an 8-1 loss to No. 11 Clayton State on Sunday afternoon at the Laker Courts.

The loss dropped USC Aiken to 5-6 on the 2011 season. The Pacers are 0-4 in PBC action. Clayton State improved to 4-2 overall and in league action with its win.

USC Aiken claimed its lone point at No. 4 singles with Melanie Schnieder (Gensingen, Germany/Lina-Hilger Gymnasium) defeating Clayton State's Marie Cercelleti.

USC Aiken will next return to the courts for an away non-conference match against Belmont Abbey in Belmont, N.C. on March 18. The match is slated to begin at 2:30 p.m.
