AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken tennis teams were unable to knock off perennial Peach Belt Conference power Armstrong Atlantic State on Wednesday afternoon at the USC Aiken Tennis Complex.
In a battle of top 25 teams, the 25th-ranked USC Aiken men fell 9-0 to the nationally third-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State men. The USC Aiken women dropped a 9-0 decision to the No. 1 Armstrong Atlantic State women.
The USC Aiken women dropped to 4-5 (0-3 PBC) on the year with the loss to the Pirate women on Wednesday. The top-ranked Armstrong Atlantic State women are now 3-0 (2-0 PBC) on the year.
The Pacer men are now 3-4 (0-3 PBC). The third-ranked Pirate men improved to 4-0 (2-0 PBC).
The USC Aiken men and women will next welcome Pfeiffer to the USC Aiken Tennis Complex for a 1 p.m. match on Saturday, Feb. 26.
