COLUMBIA, S.C. – On a neutral site, the University of South Carolina Aiken men's and women's tennis teams dominated Benedict on Sunday afternoon at the Southeast Park Tennis Complex.
The USC Aiken women earned an easy 7-0 victory over Benedict (0-1), while the 25th-ranked Pacer men picked up a dominating 9-0 win over Benedict (0-1). The match was not played on Benedict's normal home courts.
The victory brought both the Pacer men and women back to .500 on the 2011 season. The Pacer women are now 4-4 on the year, while the USC Aiken men are 3-3.
The USC Aiken men and women will next welcome national power and Peach Belt Conference rival Armstrong Atlantic State to the USC Aiken Tennis Complex for a 2:30 p.m. match on Wednesday, Feb. 23. The Armstrong Atlantic State women are currently ranked No. 1 in the nation, while the Pirate men travel to Aiken as the No. 3 team in NCAA Division II.
