DUE WEST, S.C. – USC Aiken was victorious in four of the six singles matches to acquire its second straight team victory in as many days with a 5-4 win over 47th-ranked Erskine on Tuesday afternoon.
USC Aiken (8-9)Â was only able to acquire one of the three doubles points, but the Pacers responded in singles to claim the overall win. The victory, which came one day after USC Aiken claimed an 8-1 win over Georgia Southwestern at the USC Aiken Tennis Complex, improves the Pacers to 8-9 on the 2010 season.
The Pacers collected their wins in singles over Erskine (12-6) at No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 singles. Three of the four wins came in straight sets.
Stephanie Humphrey secured the thrilling overall 5-4 win for the Pacers by downing Britton Bignon 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 6-4 at No. 3 singles.Â
USC Aiken's men's and women's tennis teams will next travel to Orangeburg, S.C. to face off against NCAA Division I South Carolina State at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 1. One day later, the Pacer women will welcome UNC Pembroke to the USC Aiken Tennis Complex for a 2 p.m. match on Friday, April 2.

The Pacer tennis teams will close the curtains on the week with a 10 a.m. match against Peach Belt Conference foe Francis Marion on Saturday, April 3.
