Box Score AIKEN, S.C.--Dennis Blackmon smacked a two-run homer over the left field wall in the top of the first inning as Barton College (13-17) snapped #27 USC Aiken's (16-7) five-game winning streak 9-2 on a cold, rainy Wednesday night at Roberto Hernandez Stadium. Blackmon went 2-for-5 with four RBI on the night. 

Trailing 3-0 entering the home half of the fourth, Bob Hatcher and Darryl Pui had RBI singles to trim the deficit to one run at 3-2. 

Same score in the sixth, however, as the Bulldogs posted a three-spot keyed by Brock Godwin's single to right center that plated a pair of unearned runs in Rufus Wilson and Kevin Brosseau to make it 6-2. 

Barton tacked on three more in the eighth to set the final score at 9-2. Godwin, Sean Latimer, and Eric McInerny each finished 2-for-5 and combined for three runs and three RBI for the Bulldogs. 

Hatcher, Pui, Steven Kinney, Brandon Barenie, and Casey Derhak split the five singles for the Pacers who did not manage an extra base hit on the night. 

Robert Malkmus (1-0) tossed 1.0 inning of perfect relief for the win. Barton used six pitchers, with no one going more than 2.0 innings, combining for three strikeouts and three walks. 

Jon Paul (1-2) suffered the loss for USCA allowing six runs, three earned, on seven hits and four walks, fanning six. 

USC Aiken will travel to Milledgeville, Ga. this weekend for a key Peach Belt Conference series with #25 Georgia College and State University beginning Friday, March 18 at 5:00 PM.
