AUGUSTA, Ga.--USC Aiken's men's tennis team, ranked 36TH in NCAA Division II, had its seven match winning streak snapped by number 30 Augusta State University on Thursday in Augusta, Ga. The Pacers fall to 0-3 in Peach Belt Conference play and 9-4 overall. The Jaguars improve to 12-2 overall and even their league record at 2-2.

Raul Intriago, ranked as the 47th best singles player in Division II, beat Pierre Negri in straight sets, 6-3 and 6-3, in number one singles.

USC Aiken earned victories at number two and number six singles. Nicolas Lombardo came from behind to beat Harry Hahn, 3-6, 7-5 and 10-4, at number two. Jeff West, in just his fourth appearance of the season, remained perfect in singles play with a 7-6, 5-7 and 11-9, win over Mike Vandenabeele.

The Pacers will return to action on Saturday when they host 14th ranked Columbus State University at 11:00 a.m.
