Box Score SAVANNAH, Ga.--Lenoir-Rhyne (5-5) shot 48.1 percent from the field and connected on 10-of-18 from behind the arc to send the USC Aiken Pacers (4-6) to their third straight defeat 82-60 on Saturday evening in Savannah, Ga. USCA was competing in the 2004 Chatham Orthopedics Basketball Classic hosted by Armstrong Atlantic State University.
Curt Triplin poured in 15 points and pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds for the game's only double double.
Josh Poston and
Marcus Robinson each scored nine points off the bench for the Pacers.
Stephen Hinds led Lenoir-Rhyne with 24 points on 7-of-14 from the field and 8-of-9 at the charity stripe. Roman Davis added 19 points and eight rebounds while David Lawson chipped in 17 points on a sizzling 5-of-5 from beyond the arc performance. As a team, the Bears shot 55.6 percent from deep compared to 3-of-13 for USC Aiken.
The Pacers did manage to get the free throw line 43 times, converting 27 attempts for 62.8 percent. LRC was 20-of-29 for 69.0 percent. But 51.9 percent shooting in the second stanza by the Bears turned a 37-26 halftime lead into an 82-60 win.
USC Aiken will break for the holidays before returning to action in 2005. The Pacers will host rival USC Upstate (formerly USC Spartanburg) on Wednesday, January 5 at 7:30 PM in both team's Peach Belt Conference opener.
