AIKEN, S.C. – USCA men's basketball coach Mark Vanderslice is excited to announce Isaiah Campbell as the assistant coach.

"We are ecstatic about the promotion of Isaiah," Vanderslice said. "He is a superstar in the making and we're lucky to have him be part of our staff in a full-time capacity. The dedication and work within the program last year was phenomenal. His electric attitude, passion, and knowledge of the game make him a terrific fit for not only our team but the overall department here at USCA. He has a heart to teach and develop these young men, and I couldn't be happier with his addition."

Campbell, in his second year at USCA, spent the first year as a volunteer assistant coach with the men's program.

During his first year with the team, he coached all-PBC performer Caleb Byrd. Additionally, the team established multiple school records and top-10 performances in a single game during the 132-50 victory over Virginia University of Lynchburg.

He moved to Aiken, S.C., after spending the previous two years on Rob Lanier's staff at SMU as the video coordinator. Prior to 2022, he was on the staff as a graduate assistant for three seasons at Georgia State.

Following his first season on the Hilltop, which included a runner-up finish at the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic, the Mustangs brought in a transfer class ranked as high as No. 42 nationally. In August of 2023, the Mustangs went on a 10-day trip to Spain, going 3-0 with games in Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona.

In his three seasons at Georgia State, the Panthers went 53-30, winning the Sun Belt Tournament in 2022 and advancing to the NCAA Tournament. The team also made the Sun Belt Tournament Championship in 2021. Additionally, he led GSU to a victory over Georgia Tech, the program's first win over an ACC opponent. The Panthers also claimed the 2019-20 2K Empire Classic Riverside Regional.
 
Prior to Georgia State, Campbell spent two seasons as a student assistant at Tennessee under the guidance of head coach Rick Barnes. During his time with the Volunteers, the program won the 2017-18 SEC Championship and reached the Sweet 16 a season later. During the 2018-19 campaign, UT was ranked No. 1 nationally for multiple weeks during the regular season.
