AIKEN, S.C.--USC Aiken's women's tennis team lost two of three matches this weekend. On Friday, the University of North Florida shutout the Lady Pacers, 9-0, in Jacksonville, Fla. The team picked up a win on Saturday over Queens University of Charlotte, 7-1, in Charlotte, N.C. On Sunday, USCA lost a close one to Northern Kentucky University, 5-4, in Aiken, S.C. The Lady Pacers move to 5-8 overall this season.

North Florida improved to 3-2 in the Peach Belt Conference with its win over the Lady Pacers. USCA fell to 1-6 in league play.

Queens University won one of three doubles matches but didn't pick up any singles wins as USC Aiken rolled to a 7-1 win. Myra Kaefer and Otavia Bastos each won in three sets. Kaefer took the number two singles match over Liz Dibbs by scores of 6-3, 1-6 and 7-5. Bastos came from behind in the number four singles match to beat Lee-Deane Elmore, 3-6, 6-0 and 6-1.

Against Northern Kentucky, USCA fell behind early by losing two of the three doubles matches. Four of the six singles matches were decided in three sets with the Lady Pacers winning two and NKU winning two. Bastos and Monica Budnichuk earned USC Aiken's three-set wins. 

The Lady Pacer tennis team will be back in action on Monday when they host Tusculum College beginning at 3:00 p.m.
