AIKEN, S.C.--USC Aiken's men's tennis team won two of three matches this weekend. On Friday, the Pacers were shutout, 9-0, in a Peach Belt Conference match against the University of North Florida, in Jacksonville, Fla. USCA defeated Queens University of Charlotte, 8-1, on Saturday in Charlotte, N.C. The squad returned home to host Northern Kentucky University on Sunday and pulled out a 6-3 win to improve to 6-4 on the season.

North Florida improved to 6-0 and 3-0 in the PBC with its win over the Pacers. USC Aiken dropped to 1-3 in league play this season.

USC Aiken lost just one singles match on its way to beating Queens University. Pierre Negri and Fernando Guevara each won in three sets. Negri downed Jason Heathcoate, 6-4, 2-6 and 6-0, in the number two singles match. Guevara got the best of Nate Mann, 4-6, 6-2 and 6-1, in the number three singles match. 

The Pacers jumped out to an early lead against Northern Kentucky by winning two of the three doubles matches. USCA won all four of its singles matches in straight sets. Harshit Sharma handed Amine Benjelloun a 6-2 and 6-1 loss in the number one singles match. Fernando Blanco beat Billy Hopkins in the number five slot, 6-2 and 6-2

USC Aiken will return to action on Monday when they host Tusculum College beginning at 3:00 p.m.
