AIKEN, S.C.--USC Aiken's men's tennis team fell to ninth ranked Lander University, 6-2, today at the USC Aiken Tennis Complex in Aiken, S.C. The Pacers drop to 11-7 overall and 2-5 in Peach Belt Conference play. The Bearcats improve to 9-3 and 5-1 in the PBC. 

Lander jumped out ahead by winning all three doubles matches. Rob Steckley and Erik Flyght lost just one game in an 8-1 win over USCA's Fernando Blanco and Pierre Negri, in the number one doubles match. 

USC Aiken earned both of its points in singles play. Harshit Sharma beat Flyght in the number two singles match, 7-5 and 6-2, to improve to 14-3 in singles play this season. In the number five singles match, Carlos Huerta beat Nicholas Tzekos in three sets, 6-1, 5-7 and 6-0. Huerta has now won nine of his last 10.

Fernando Blanco lost in three sets to Henrik Erlandsson in the number four singles match, 3-6, 6-3 and 10-6. The Bearcats won the number one and number three singles matches in straight sets.

The Pacers will return to action on Thursday when they host 14th ranked USC Spartanburg, for a Peach Belt Conference match, at the USC Aiken Tennis Complex, at 3:00 p.m.
