Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 CLINTON, S.C.--USC Aiken suffered a doubleheader softball sweep at the hands of Presbyterian College yesterday in Clinton, S.C. The Lady Pacers fell 2-0 in game one and lost game two by a 2-1 score in eight innings. A sacrifice fly by Haley Brooks in the bottom of the eighth inning of game two gave the Lady Blue Hose (25-5) the sweep. USCA drops to 18-16 on the season.

Two runs by PC in the bottom of the third inning of game one accounted for all the scoring. Amanda Teal drove in Brooks with a single and Rachel Bailey scored on a USC Aiken error.

Megan Wheelus earned the shutout for Presbyterian. She went the distance allowing just two hits and striking out five batters to improve to 6-3. JoAnn Jones scatters six hits over six innings and allowed just two runs, but took the loss, falling to 7-5 on the season.

Jayme Durand accounted for both of USC Aiken's hits. The sophomore finished two-for-three.

In game two, the Lady Blue Hose took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. Nickie Templeton led-off the inning with a double, advanced to third on a sacrifice and scored on a fielder's choice.

The Lady Pacers platted the tying run in the top of the sixth inning. Back-to-back singles by Temeka Floyd and Jami Cornwell put runners on the corners. A wild pitch pushed across the tying run and moved Cornwell to second. Presbyterian got out of the inning when Ashley Dyches lined into a double play with the bases loaded. 

Each team began the eighth inning with a runner placed at second base. PC took advantage after the Lady Pacers left runners at the corners in the top half of the inning. A sacrifice bunt moved Jessica Kilpatrick to third base setting up Brooks' sac fly to win the game.
Durand went 0-for-1 in game two with three walks. Brook McSwain finished with two hits in three at bats. 

The Lady Pacers will return to action on Friday when they travel to Spartanburg, S.C., to take part in the South Carolina Fast Pitch Classic hosted by the University of South Carolina Spartanburg. USC Aiken will face Queens University of Charlotte at 5:00 p.m. and Mars Hill College at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. 

On Saturday, USCA will play West Virginia State at 10:00 a.m., and Lenoir-Rhyne College at 2:00 p.m. A single elimination tournament will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and run into Sunday.
