COLUMBUS, Ga.--USC Aiken's men's tennis team defeated Columbus State University, 6-3, today in a match-up of Peach Belt Conference men's tennis teams in Columbus, Ga. The Pacers (3-2, 1-2 PBC) dropped two of the three doubles matches but came back to win five of six singles matches over the Cougars (4-3, 1-2 PBC).
The USCA duo of
Carlos Huerta and
Fernando Guevara picked up the Pacers' only doubles win by beating Razvan Druica and Alexandru Vasilescu, 8-6.
The difference in the match came from the number one and number three singles matches. USC Aiken's Pierre Negri and Guevara each fell behind by one set and came back to claim victories. Negri downed Tim Child, 1-6, 7-6 and 10-7 and Guevara beat Eric Sajowitz, 2-6, 6-2 and 6-2.
The Pacers will return to action on Tuesday when they host Mount Olive College, at the USC Aiken Tennis Complex, beginning at 12:00 p.m.Â
