AIKEN, S.C.--USC Aiken's women's tennis team handed UNC Pembroke its first loss of the season, 8-1, on Sunday and earned its first Peach Belt Conference win of the season. The Lady Pacers improve to 2-4 overall and 1-4 in league play. The Lady Braves drop to 3-1 on the season and 0-1 in the PBC.
USCA won all six of the singles matches.
Dominique Cassetori downed Stacey Wood, 6-2 and 6-2, in the number one singles match.
Nicole Copp lost just two games on her way to beating Natalie Dies, 6-1 and 6-1, in the number three singles match.
Otavia Bastos and
Mayra Kaefer edged Wood and Erin Saltzman in the number one doubles match, 9-8 (9-7). The Lady Braves duo of Dies and Abi French downed Cassetori and
Elly Toth in the number two singles match, 8-1.
The Lady Pacer tennis team will be back in action Monday when they travel to face Wingate University beginning at 2:30 p.m.Â
