Box Score CLINTON, S.C.--Presbyterian College (8-5-0) netted three first half goals and held off USC Aiken (5-6-2) for a 3-0 victory in men's non-conference soccer action on Tuesday night at Martin Stadium. It was the Blue Hose's ninth win over the Pacers in nine all-time meetings.
Trent Weber got PC in the scoring column in the 15th minute on a one-timer off a Sam Sanders' cross. Brandon Tucker added an unassisted marker in the 17th minute to give the Blue Hose an early 2-0 advantage. Jeff Haigler tacked on an insurance goal in the 33rd minute of play to set the final margin at 3-0.
PC held a 16-12 advantage in shots and a 5-2 edge in corner kicks.
Andre Joseph and
Mamadou Ndoye combined for nine of the Pacers' shots including four on goal.
Zac Van Frank and
Harold Tate combined to make five saves in net for the Pacers. Mark Owens and Kevin Czar notched four saves in handing USCA its third consecutive shutout.
USC Aiken returns home to host Brescia College on Thursday, October 14 at 3:00 PM.
