JACKSONVILLE, FL--Seventh seeded USC Aiken lost to the University of North Florida, the number two seed, 5-0, today in the first round of the 2003 Peach Belt Conference Tournament at the UNF Tennis Complex in Jacksonville, Fla. USCA falls to 8-7 on the season while the fourth ranked Ospreys improve to 14-4.
The Pacers have one match remaining. USC Aiken will play Columbus State University, the sixth seed, on Friday at 11:00 a.m.Â
North Florida won all three doubles matches and quickly won two singles matches to take the shutout victory.
Kiril Popov and
Carlos Huerta lost in the number one doubles match by an 8-6 score. UNF's number three and five singles players posted straight set wins over
Fernando Guevara and Huerta.
