BEAUFORT, S.C.—USC Aiken's men's tennis team defeated Queens University of Charlotte, 8-1, today in Beaufort, S.C. The Pacers (3-3) have now won three straight matches after beginning the season with three consecutive loses.
USCA swept all of the singles matches.
Fernando Guevara and
Carlos Huerta each won their singles match without losing a single game. The duo of
Kiril Popov and
Nicolas Lombardo shutout Queens' doubles team of Jason Heathcoate and Chris Donelan, 8-0.
Queens University's only win of the match came from Pedro Caevas.
Bogdan Diaconescu fell to Caevas, 8-5, in the number six singles match.
USC Aiken's matches with Northern Kentucky, scheduled for this past Thursday in Aiken, and with Armstrong Atlantic State, scheduled for yesterday in Savannah, Ga., were both cancelled due to rain.
The Pacers will return to action on Sunday as they participate in spring break competition in Hilton Head, S.C.
