AIKEN, S.C.—USC Aiken's men's tennis team won for the first time this season by defeating Wingate University, 5-4, on Sunday at the USC Aiken Tennis Complex.  The Pacers improve to 1-3 overall this year while Wingate's record falls to 1-1. 
 
USCA won three of the six singles matches and two of the three doubles matches to earn the 5-4 victory.  Fernando Guevara picked up his second win of the season with a 6-1, 6-2 straight set win over Robbie Rowe in the number two singles match.  Freshman Nicolas Lombardo won for the first time as a Pacer by beating Marius Dan, 6-4, 6-2, in number three singles.  Carlos Huerta also won for the first time as a Pacer.  He defeated Joe Kanekar, 6-2, 6-0, in number four singles. 
  
The team of Kiril Popov and Lombardo defeated Wingate's number one doubles team by a score of 8-4.  Behind the play of Huerta and Guevara the Pacers won the number two doubles match 8-4 also.
The Pacers will return to action on Thursday when they host Northern Kentucky University at the USCA Tennis Complex beginning at 12:00 p.m.
