AIKEN, S.C.—USC Aiken's men's tennis team beat Concord College, 9-0, today at the USC Aiken Tennis Complex, in Aiken, S.C. The Pacers have now won four consecutive matches and stand 4-3 on the season.
USCA singles players combined to lose just 10 games in six matches. Three Pacers,
Harshit Sharma,
Carlos Huerta and
Francis Combier, did not lose a single game as all three won by 6-0 and 6-0 scores.
Nicolas Lombardo lost just won game in beating Velden Linn, 6-0 and 6-1.
Fernando Guevara had the toughest time, he downed Jesse Saunders, 6-3 and 6-3.
Kiril Popov won the number one singles match over Mark O'Neil, 6-3 and 6-0.
Concord won five games in doubles action, but lost all three matches.
Popov and
Lombardo won by an 8-4 score.
Guevara and
Huerta teamed for an 8-1 win. In the third doubles match,
Sharma and
Combier shutout Concord, 8-0.
The Pacers will be back on the courts Friday when they travel to Savannah, Ga., for a Peach Belt Conference match with Armstrong Atlantic State University at 3:00 p.m.
