Box Score AIKEN, SC--The USC Aiken Pacers (26-14) posted a season sweep of Newberry (12-26) on Tuesday with an 11-1 victory over the Indians.  The bottom half of the Pacer lineup contributed six of the 11 runs for the Pacers. 
  
The Pacers drew first blood in the second inning as Mike Cunningham hit a RBI single through the middle, scoring Justin Williams.  A wild pitch by Newberry hurler Jamie Mayes scored the second run of the inning. 
  
Newberry cut the deficit to 2-1 in the top of the fourth on a solo home run by Gene Dotson off Pacer pitcher Paul Ferrell.  USCA tallied two more runs in its half of the inning on the first of three home runs by the Pacers.  Ashley Morgan belted his second round-tripper of the season, a two run shot to left field, giving USCA a 4-1 lead. 
  
The home team added another run in the fifth, but broke the game open in the seventh, scoring four times to build a commanding 9-1 lead.  Demetrick Drumming led off the inning with his 13th home run of the season, tying him for the conference lead.  Cunningham, who only had 19 plate appearances coming into tonight's contest, hit his second RBI single scoring two more runs. 
  
In the eighth, Kyle Langley belted his fourth home run of the season in the first at-bat.  Tony Hanks hit a RBI single to give USCA a ten-run lead. 
  
For the game, Ferrell improves to 3-0 on the season in five innings of work, allowing seven hits, one earned run and four strikeouts. Cunningham went 3-of-4 a double and three RBI in only his seventh start of the season.  Mayes (2-6) picks up the loss, allowing just four hits, five runs, four earned in five innings of work.  However, Mayes did walk five Pacers and did not strikeout a batter.  The seven, eight and nine batters for the Pacers went 4-for-9, a double, a home run, six RBI and three runs scored. 
  
USCA will host Saint Augustine on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at J.H. Satcher Field.  USCA will hit the road for a three-game series against Augusta State this weekend.  The Pacers will return home for a game against Anderson on Tuesday, April 9 at 6:00 p.m.
