AIKEN, SC—After having last weekend's matches postponed due to rain, the USCA tennis teams got back on the court this Saturday against Northern Kentucky. Both teams defeated UNK.
The men's team edged out a 5-4 victory over UNK winning four-of-six singles matches after losing the doubles 2-1.
Will Thurmond won an exciting 7-5, 6-4 match to give USCA the victory.
The women, on the other hand, cruised to a 7-2 victory, taking two-of-three in doubles action and five-of-six in the singles. This was just the second victory of the season for the Lady Pacer squad.
On Sunday, the Pacers traveled to Georgia College and State for a matchup against the Bobcats. Both teams fell. The men dropped a 7-2 decision and the women lost 8-1.
Kiril Popov defeated Thomas Karlsson 6-2, 6-2 in singles and
Popov teamed with
Jorge Neubauer won in doubles for the only victories in the match for USCA.
On the women's side, USCA dropped an 8-1 decision to the Bobcats. The lone victory for USCA came as
Roxy Mazsa won her match with UNK player Elizabeth Williams retiring.
The Pacers will return home to take on Augusta State on March 13 at 6:00 p.m.
