AIKEN, S.C. – The USC-Aiken soccer team, powered by junior goalkeeper
Dave Joyce, notched their first shutout of the season with a 3-0 victory over Limestone Wednesday afternoon.
Not only did Joyce claim his third shutout of his career, he added his first career assist on one of
Eric Mora's two goals. Mora's two goals for the day brings his total to seven on the season and four in the last three games. The senior has 15 points for the season.
Aiken, S.C. native Marty Young, filling in for injured
James Horton, got the game started with his first career goal off an assist from
Brad Saenz (2:27). Young finished with four shots.
Then Mora took charge adding two goals in five minutes (assisted by Joyce and
Zach Craddock).
The first half ended with a 3-0 score. USC-Aiken took 14 shots in the second half but could not capitalize.
