University of South Carolina Aiken women’s soccer standout Karin Cadwalader has been named the USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the 2016-17 athletic year ending Sept. 5, 2016.

Cadwalader, a 5-8 junior goalkeeper from Hasselby, Sweden, registered her first two career shutouts while helping the Pacers start the season 2-1.

In the season-opening match at Mars Hill, Cadwalader played all 96:41 between the pipes. She turned away four shots en route to the 1-0 overtime victory.

On Saturday, Cadwalader did not come out in the 4-0 blanking at Oglethorpe. With the offense in sync, she had to only stop a pair of shots on frame while the team picked up a 4-0 victory.

USC Aiken dropped the match at Belmont Abbey, but Cadwalader was brilliant, stopping six shots in goal. She currently has an .857 save percentage and is allowing a mere 0.65 goals per game.
