AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken volleyball standout Christine Carroll has been named the Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending August 26, 2018.
Carroll, a junior from Cincinnati, Ohio, guided the Pacers to a 2-1 week.
The 6-1 middle blocker turned in an impressive weekend.
In the season-opening match, Carroll slammed down a career-high 16 kills without an error while hitting .696. The hitting percentage is the third-best in the rally-scoring era in a three-set match in school history.
Against Barry, she hammered home a team-best 13 kills while adding a pair of blocks. In the weekend final victory over Johnson C. Smith, Carroll smashed 12 kills in two sets while hitting .688, marking another top-five performance for hitting percentage.
Carroll leads the PBC with 5.13 kills per set. Her .493 attack percentage puts her in the top five as well.
