AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken women’s soccer standout Sarah Moore has been named the South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Student-Athlete of the Month for August.

Moore, a senior midfielder from Lexington, S.C., guided the Pacers to a 4-1 win in the season opener against Mars Hill.

Moore came out of the gate and tallied two goals and an assist in the victory. She found Tori Caldwell for a 1-0 lead in the 17^th minute of play.

Moore took a pass from Casey Rish in the 52^nd minute and scored the game-winning goal. Just over a minute later, Moore added an insurance goal for a 3-1 lead en route to the three-goal victory.

The South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month award honors one student-athlete each month from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort. Each month during the 2017-18 athletic year one winner will be chosen from an in-season sport.
