AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken baseball standout Jose Bonilla has been named the South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Student-Athlete of the Month for March.

Jose Bonilla led the Pacers to an 11-7 record during the month while batting .405.

The Aguada, P.R., native, started all 18 games. He wrapped out 32 hits in 79 at bats. Bonilla scored 19 runs while driving in eight. Four of his hits went for extra bases, including three doubles and a triple.

Bonilla slugged .468 and sported a .472 on-base percentage. On the base paths, he swiped five bases.

In the field, Bonilla registered 43 putouts without making an error.

The South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month award honors one student-athlete each month from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort. Each month during the 2016-17 athletic year one winner will be chosen from an in-season sport.
