AIKEN, S.C. - USCA women’s cross country standout Gabrielle Jourdain has been named the South Carolina Education Lottery Student-Athlete of the Month for October.
Jourdain, a native of Sandy Run, S.C., guided the Pacers to a fifth-place finish at the Sand Shark Invitational and a sixth-place effort at the PBC Championships.
At the Sand Shark Invitational, she turned in a time of 19:26.0, which marked the second-fastest time in school history. For her effort, she picked up her second PBC Runner of the Week accolade.
At the PBC Championship, Jourdain crossed the finish line in 19:44.3, which was good enough for 28th place. Her time helped the Pacers secure their best finish at the league meet since 2008.
Jourdain’s time of 19:44.3 is also tied for the fifth-best mark in school history.
The South Carolina Education Lottery USCA Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month award honors one student-athlete each month from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort. Each month during the 2024-25 athletic year one winner will be chosen from an in-season sport.
