AIKEN, S.C. – The Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Student-Athlete of the Week is women's basketball standout Marta Rivera.

Rivera, a native of Madrid, Spain, had an outstanding game at Coker.

Against the Cobras, Rivera tied her career high with a game-best 20 points. She drilled nine-of-10 shots from the floor and connected on two-of-three from the charity stripe.

Rivera led the team with four steals while her five boards also were tops on the squad. For good measure, she dished out two assists.

It marked the second consecutive game Rivera scored 20 points on an opponent after having done so against No. 6 Catawba on Dec. 16.

The Hutson-Etherredge Companies and Auto-Owners Insurance USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Week honors one student-athlete each week from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
