AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken men’s basketball standout Anyeuri Castillo has been named the South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Student-Athlete of the Month for February.

Castillo is a 6-7 forward from Norcross, Ga.

In February, Castillo saw time in all seven games, earning five starts. He led the team by averaging 12.9 points per game and snagged a team-best 8.4 rebounds a game.

Castillo’s 11 blocks were also tops on the team. He canned 38.4 percent of his shots from the floor and netted 77.8 percent of his free throws.

Castillo scored in double figures six times during the month, including a high of 19 in the victory at Augusta. Castillo registered a pair of double-doubles for the week.

The South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month award honors one student-athlete each month from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort. Each month during the 2020-21 athletic year one winner will be chosen from an in-season sport.
