AIKEN, S.C. - University of South Carolina Aiken men’s basketball standout Faison Brock has been named the South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Student-Athlete of the Month for December.
Brock, a senior from Raleigh, N.C., guided the Pacers to a 5-1 month, including a 3-0 start in PBC play.
The standout started all six games and led the team by averaging 17.7 points along with 8.7 rebounds per contest. He connected on 34-of-74 from the floor (45.9 percent). At the free throw stripe, Brock drained 36-of-39 (92.3 percent).
He was second on the team with 14 total assists and second with eight steals during the month.
Brock started the month with 11 points and eight rebounds in the win over Claflin before putting up 14 points and seven boards in the victory over Southern Wesleyan. He accounted for 15 points and six rebounds in the win over North Georgia before erupting for 25 points and 10 boards in the win over Columbus State. Brock tallied 20 points and 12 rebounds in the win over Georgia Southwestern before finishing the month with 21 points and nine boards at Southern Wesleyan.
He tallied his 1,000
th career point in the win over the Cougars.
The South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month award honors one student-athlete each month from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort. Each month during the 2019-20 athletic year one winner will be chosen from an in-season sport.
