AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken men’s basketball standout Ty’lik Evans has been named the South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Student-Athlete of the Month for January.

Evans, a senior from Macon, Ga., guided the Pacers to a 7-1 month.

He accounted for a team-best 20.8 points per game. Evans also led the team in steals (34), three-point field goals made (36) and offensive rebounds (23). He posted over a 2-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio while playing 286 minutes.

Evans scored in double figures in seven of the contests, erupting for a season-high 31 points in the come-from-behind win over Clayton State. Against the Lakers, he poured in eight three-point field goals and hit 11 shots from the floor.

Evans scored over 20 points five times during the month. He flirted with a triple-double in the win over Lander with 24 points, 10 rebounds and a season-high eight assists.

The South Carolina Education Lottery USC Aiken Athletic Department Student-Athlete of the Month award honors one student-athlete each month from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort. Each month during the 2018-19 athletic year one winner will be chosen from an in-season sport.
