Fisher And Kegley Earn All-PBC Honors; Kegley Tabbed PBC Freshman Of The Year

Kegley & Fisher Named First Team All-PBC

AUGUSTA, Ga. – USCA softball standouts Autumn Fisher and Abbie Kegley have been named to the PBC all-conference team, while Kegley was also named the PBC Freshman of the Year.

Fisher, a sophomore from Inman, S.C., has had a tremendous season. After a stellar freshman campaign, Fisher is batting .392 while starting all 53 games. She has 62 hits on the year, including 30 for extra bases. Fisher has 11 home runs, 10 triples and nine doubles. The second baseman has driven in 42 runs and has scored 40 times. Fisher is slugging .785 and sports a .457 on-base percentage. She turned in 18 multi-hit performances, including six three-hit contests. 

In the PBC, Fisher is first in triples (10), second in OPS (1.242), slugging (.785) and total bases (124), fourth in home runs (11), fifth in hits (62), seventh in batting average (.392), eighth in walks (23), runs scored (40) and RBI (42) and 10th in on-base percentage (.457).

Kegley, a freshman from Quinton, Va., leads the team with 15 wins and a 1.88 ERA. She posted three shutouts during the regular season while throwing 18 complete games. Kegley appeared in 34 contests and tossed 175.1 innings. She struck out 147 batters on the year and limited the opposition to a .182 batting average.  

In the PBC, Kegley is first in strikeouts (147) and innings pitched (175.1), second in ERA (1.88), opponents' batting average (.178) and complete games (22), fourth in strikeouts looking (34), fifth in wins (15), sixth in shutouts (three) and saves (one) and ninth in games started (18). 

She recorded a pair of no-hitters on the season – in victories over Wingate (March 3) and Georgia College (March 27). 

It marked the fourth time in program history that a USCA student-athlete has been named PBC Freshman of the Year. Past winners include Jami Cornwell (2000), Jayme Durand (2003) and India Kornegay (2011).
