Abbie Kegley has been named the PBC Pitcher of the Week and PBC Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league office.
A native of Quinton, Va., Kegley went 2-1 on the week. She went the distance to get the complete-game win at Anderson. In the contest, Kegley posted five strikeouts and gave up just one earned run on four hits. She posted her second no-hitter of the season in the 2-1 win over GCSU. Against the Bobcats, Kegley struck out five. She worked 2.1 innings of relief in the second game of the series without allowing a run and had a strikeout. Kegley posted three strikeouts in the series finale and gave up just one run.
For the week, she threw 24.1 innings in five contests. Kegley gave up four runs on 12 hits and tallied 14 strikeouts while allowing only three extra-base hits.
