HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The USCA golf team placed seventh at the Wexford Invitational, which wrapped up Tuesday afternoon.
Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team was paced by
Mitchell McNeill's seventh-place finish. McNeill finished the tournament at two-under par, 214. He shot scores of 70, 68, 76 for the 54-hole event.
Ian Williams tied for 29
th after posting a seven-over par, 223. He accounted for scores of 76-73-74 for the three-round event.
Jackson Beggs finished a stroke behind Williams, tying for 34
th. He notched scores of 74-75-75 at the tournament for an eight-over par, 224.
Karl Frisk shot 10-over par, 226. He wrapped up the Wexford Invitational with a four-over par, 76, over the final 18 holes. Frisk shot 78-72-76, putting him in a tie for 44
th place.
Teddy Crooke tied for 66
th after tallying a 16-over par, 232. He shot rounds of 76-72-84.
The College of Charleston won the event after shooting even-par, 864. Xavier (+9, 873) and Western Carolina (+10, 874) rounded out the top three teams in the 18-team field. Mercer and East Carolina were fourth and fifth, respectively.
Host Francis Marion edged Carlisle's team for sixth place. The Patriots shot 16-over par, 880, while USCA finished two strokes back at 18-over par, 882.
The Pacers return to action Feb. 23-24 at the Spring Bulldog Clash, which is hosted by Barton.
