TOCCOA, Ga. – The No. 7 USCA golf team leads the field at the AU/Erskine Currahee Invitational after the first two rounds of action.
Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team started the day by shooting 13-under par through the first round before firing a six-under par during the second round of play Monday afternoon. The Pacers stand at 19-under par, 557 through 36 holes. USCA leads Erskine by four strokes (-15, 561). North Greenville is third at six-under par, 570 while Anderson is in fourth at five-under par, 571. Barton rounds out the top five schools at two-under par, 574.
Cameron Baez leads USCA's squad at six-under par, 138. He is tied for second. Teammates
Hugo Boyer and
Mitchell McNeill are just a stroke back of Baez at five-under par, 139. The dyad are tied for fourth place.
Ian Williams is tied for ninth at three-under par, 141.
Jan Sustek is tied for 32
nd at two-over par, 146. Baez and Sustek each shot even par over the final 18 holes of play for the day.
Boyer's three-under par marked a team low for the second round while McNeill and Williams shot two-under par and one-under par, respectively, Monday afternoon.
Monday morning, Baez shot six-under par, 66. Currently, it's the second-best round of the tournament (Sam McMillan shot seven-under par during the first round).
The Pacers return to action tomorrow for the final round of action.
