HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The USCA golf team is in third place after the first day of competition at the Wexford Invitational, which is hosted by Francis Marion.
Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team stands at five-over par, 581. After opening at eight-over par, 296, the squad posted a three-under par, 285, for the second round of action.
Charleston leads the 18-team field at nine-under par, 567. Mercer is second at four-over par, 580. Western Carolina is two strokes behind USCA while Xavier is fifth (585).
Mitchell McNeill opened by shooting two-under par, 70. He fired a four-under par, 68, during the second round of play. Mitchell is third – just a stroke back of second place – at six-under par, 138.
Teddy Crooke started with an opening-round 76 before firing an even-par, 72. Crooke is tied for 25
th.
Jackson Beggs and
Ian Williams are tied for 33
rd. The two each shot five-over par, 149. Beggs posted scores of 74-75 while Williams notched scores of 76-73.
Karl Frisk is tied for 42
nd. He shot a 78 during the first round before posting an even-par, 72.
