AUSTIN, Texas – USCA baseball standout
Josh Sharp has been named an Academic All-American, as selected by College Sports Communicators.
Sharp, a senior from Lawrenceville, Ga., posted a 3.98 GPA in applied computer science, earning a spot on the second team. An all-region and all-conference honoree on the field, Sharp had a sensational season to cap his collegiate career.
He established a school and conference record for a single season with 12 triples. The standout Led Division I and Division II with his 12 triples. Sharp's effort catapulted him into the top spot for a career at USCA with 20 while tying the PBC mark set by Michael Wilson (FMU, 2011-14).
Sharp led the team in batting average (.388), OPS (1.161), runs (72), hits (81), doubles (13), triples (12), total bases (142), slugging percentage (.679), walks (32), on-base percentage (.482) and steals (30).
He concluded his career with a .344 batting average in 194 games. Sharp rattled off 254 hits, including 33 doubles, 20 triples and 11 home runs. He drove in 125 runs while scoring 166 times. Sharp posted a .487 slugging percentage, was walked 91 times and had a .422 on-base percentage. He also recorded 71 steals throughout his career.
Sharp picked up CSC Academic All-District accolades three times in his career.
