AIKEN, S.C. – USCA is pleased to announce senior softball standout
Lakyn Phillips has been named the Division of Athletics 2024-25 Female Athlete of the Year.
Phillips, a native of Lexington, S.C., led the team with a 16-4 record. A first-team all-PBC selection, the pitcher appeared in 25 games, earning 20 starts. The standout posted 14 complete games, including one shutout.
While tossing 145.2 frames, Phillips struck out 160 batters. She limited foes to a .237 batting average and sported a 2.45 ERA.
A second-team all-region honoree, Phillips posted a save en route to being the program's career leader in the category.
Against Limestone, she turned in a 15-strikeout performance in the complete-game win. Phillips also posted double-digit strikeouts in the win over Newberry (11).
At the plate, Phillips posted a three-hit game in the win over Columbus State. In the win over Georgia Southwestern, she crushed her first home run and drove in a career-high three runs. Phillips concluded the season with a .303 batting average.
