HOWEY-IN-THE-Hills, Fla. – The No. 9 USCA golf team is in fifth place after the first day of competition at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional.

Michael Carlisle's team opened the tournament at one-under par, 287.
Erik Olin is tied for second after his stellar three-under par, 69. He posted a team-best seven birdies during the first round of action. Olin is tied with six student-athletes while Florida Southern's Max Barile is atop the leaderboard at five-under par, 67.
Mitchell McNeill is 24
th after opening with an even-par, 72. He birdied the first hole and recorded 16 consecutive pars before ending the day with a bogey.
Oscar Abrahamsson and
Nick Goellner stand at one-over par, 73. They are tied for 37
th.
Karl Frisk shot three-over par, 75, for the round. Frisk is tied for 62
nd.
No. 10 Florida Southern leads the field at eight-under par. No. 13 Columbus State is second (-4) while North Georgia, ranked No. 4, is third at three-under par. Wingate, ranked No. 14, is fourth at two-under par.
