NORMAN, Okla. – The USCA golf team is No. 10 in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Division II Coaches Poll, which was recently released.
Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team moved up from No. 11 and received 285 total points in the poll.
Colorado Christian remained No. 1 while West Florida, North Georgia, Lincoln Memorial and Georgia Southwestern rounded out the top five teams. Oklahoma Christian, Lee, Central Oklahoma and Florida Southern were sixth through ninth, respectively.
USCA is coming off a second-place finish at the PBC Tournament and is gearing up for the NCAA South/Southeast Regional, which begins Wednesday.
Carlisle's five for the NCAA South/Southeast Regional included
Erik Olin,
Oscar Abrahamsson,
Karl Frisk,
Nick Goellner and
Mitchell McNeill.
Olin leads the team with a 71.1 stroke average while Abrahamsson is just behind him at 72.1. Frisk sports a 72.6 stroke average while Goellner and McNeill stand at 73.3 and 73.5, respectively.
Abrahamsson has a pair of first-place finishes while the five have combined for nine top-five efforts this season. The group, including the first-place and top-five efforts, have combined for 14 top-10 finishes this season.
