Lakyn Phillips has been a steady presence in the circle for USCA softball, bringing years of experience, consistency, and leadership to the program.
A native of Lexington, S.C, Phillips grew up around the game and carried that early passion with her into a standout collegiate career.
While trying to reflect on her past four years with the program, she shared that it is hard to sum it all up. When Phillips and
Payton Baker entered as freshmen during the 2022 season, they never realized how their journey would soon be filled with growth and memorable moments. Over the next four years, Lakyn has become part of the solid foundation for the Pacers, delivering clutch performances on the mound and earning recognition across the Peach Belt Conference.
Now in the final stretch of her college career, Phillips is making the most of every opportunity. Her focus, competitiveness, and work ethic remain as sharp as ever as she closes out her time in a Pacers uniform.
After graduation, she'll begin the next chapter at Florida State, where she'll pursuing a PhD in Biochemistry. With her eyes on the future but her heart still in the game, Phillips leaves behind a legacy of resilience, leadership, and quiet excellence.
Her advice to younger players is simple:
"Take it all in." And with everything she's accomplished, there's a lot worth remembering.
Phillips will compete in the PBC Tournament this weekend at North Georgia.
