AUGUSTA, Ga. – The No. 11 USCA golf team is in second place after the first day of competition at the PBC Championship.
The event, held at the Forest Hills Golf Club, is hosted by North Georgia.
Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team stands at two-under par, 286. USC Beaufort leads the way at nine-under par, 279. North Georgia is third at three-over par, 291, while Georgia Southwestern and Flagler are tied at four-over par, 292. Columbus State is fifth at five-over par, 293, while Georgia College and Lander are tied for seventh at 10-over par, 298.
First-team all-PBC standout
Erik Olin is tied for second place at three-under par, 69. He was at one-under par before posting back-to-back birdies to close out the round.
Nick Goellner is tied for fourth at one-under par, 71. Standing at two-over par after the first nine holes of action, Goellner birdied three of the final nine holes to finish with his 71.
Mitchell McNeill is tied for 10
th after an opening round of even-par, 72. McNeill recorded an eagle on his second hole of the day, a par-five, 601-yard No. 11.
Oscar Abrahamsson, a second-team all-PBC performer, is tied for 19
th at two-over par, 74. Standing at four-over par with four holes remaining, Abrahamsson registered an eagle on the par-five, 549-yard No. 6.
Karl Frisk's four-over par, 76, has him tied for 31
st.
