NINETY SIX, S.C. – The No. 11 USCA golf team earned a third-place finish at the Bearcat Classic, which wrapped up Tuesday afternoon.
The event was hosted by Lander and was played at the Patriot GC at Grand Harbor on a par-72, 7,054-yard course.
The Pacers moved up two spots in the final round to finish third. The team shot nine-under par over the final 18 holes to finish at six-under par, 858. Wingate won the tournament at 17-under par, 847, while Grand Valley State was second at 13-under par, 851.
Karl Frisk garnered a top-10 finish. He shot three-under par on the final 18 holes and finished at two-under par, 214 for 10
th place.
Erik Olin garnered a top-20 effort by placing 17
th. He shot even-par, 216, for the 54-hole event. Olin opened by shooting three-under par. He shot three-over par for round two before posting an even-par, 72, for the final round.
Oscar Abrahamsson and
Mitchell McNeill tied for 27
th. The duo shot three-over par, 219. Both went under par on Tuesday. Abrahamsson shot four-under par and McNeill recorded a two-under par for the final round of action.
Nick Goellner finished two strokes behind the two at five-over par, 221. He finished 34
th.
The Pacers return to action Monday when they host the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate. Live stats will be available at PacerSports.com.
