HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The No. 14 USCA golf team took second at the 19
th Annual Wexford Intercollegiate, which wrapped up Tuesday afternoon.
Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team was led by
Karl Frisk's fifth-place finish. Frisk shot one-under par, 215, for the 54-hole event.
Oscar Abrahamsson narrowly missed a top-10 finish by taking 11
th. He shot one-over par, 217.
Erik Olin notched a top-20 effort after shooting four-over par, 220. Olin's score was good enough for 17
th place.
Mitchell McNeill and
Nick Goellner tied for 23
rd with scores of seven-over par, 223.
Xavier won the tournament after shooting one-under par, 863. The Pacers posted a score of seven-over par, 871, for the silver medal. East Carolina (+15, 879), Denver (+16, 880) and Mercer (+21, 885) were third through fifth, respectively, in the 18-team field.
The Pacers return to action March 3-4 at the Bearcat Classic, which is hosted by Lander University in Greenwood, S.C.
